Limitations and alternatives
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of RA Sushi, there may be some limitations. We have just launched a new website in efforts to address many past accessibility issues, however we are still in process of evaluating the accessibility of the new site. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us at [email protected] if you observe an issue not listed below.
Known limitations for RA Sushi:
1. WCAG 1.3 Adaptable
a. Some text that is styled as a heading is not labeled as a heading. This may cause confusion for some users wanting to just to sections of the site that seem to be divided visually in ways that they are not via assistive technology.
b. Some form controls might be missing labels, which could make it more difficult for assistive technology to identify what the user should do in an area.
2. WCAG 2.4 Navigable
a. Some controls might not change appearance when selected.
b. Some link text that is the same might be going to different urls.
c. Some links might be too vague.
d. Some links might be going to anchors that don’t exist.
3. WCAG 3.2 Predictable
a. Some forms might be missing labels or submit buttons.
4. WCAG 3.3 Input Assistance
a. Some forms might not be properly allowing screen readers or other assistive technology to read out instructions, corrections, or error messages.
5. WCAG 2.1 AA SC 4.1.3 Status Messages
a. On the Reservations page, if a screen reader user selects ‘Complete reservation’ at the end of the reservation process, no confirmation is announced when the screen changes to show a reservation has been made. This error specifically is due to 3rd party software (Open Table) and not immediately resolvable. However we are researching solutions.
