What is RA Sushi?

The RA Sushi Bar Restaurant concept is based on inventive sushi, Japanese cuisine and innovative cocktails served in a high-energy, fun and sexy environment.

How many locations do you have?

We currently have 20 locations in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, New York, Nevada and Texas.

Where and when was the first RA opened?

Scottsdale, AZ in 1997.

Can I get more details about The Hook Up Email Program?

Below you can find more information about The Hook Up.

1) What is ‘The Hook Up’?
‘The Hook Up’ is our preferred customer email program for guests to hear about food and drink specials, parties, events and all other happenings in the RA. Upon signing up, guests will receive a Welcome Email confirming their enrollment to the program. Our guests will also receive a $20 birthday and half birthday certificate to use throughout the month of their birthday and Half Birthday. Sign up today at www.RAsushi.com.

2) When should I receive my birthday/half birthday certificate?
To give our guests time to schedule their celebration with us, birthday certificates are issued daily, and you will receive your birthday certificate 8-10 days before your birthday occurs. Half birthday certificates are issued daily, and you will receive your certificate on the day of your half birthday.

3) I never received my certificate. What happened?
Here are a few reasons:

  • Your certificate was sent to you, but based on your email account settings the email was filtered to your ‘spam’ or ‘junk mail’ folders. Please check both of these locations for your certificate. Please make sure to add the following email address to your contacts in order to ensure safe delivery of your half birthday certificate: TheHookUp@RAsushi-news.com.
  • You may have an incomplete/incorrect date of birth on file (we REQUIRE the following format: MM/DD/YYYY) and/or you have not selected a RA Sushi location you most frequently visit.
  • If you and another member registered on the same email account, the information may belong to the other member. There is only one person per email address as stated in ‘The Hook Up’ Terms and Conditions.
  • If you registered in one of our restaurants, the information submitted may have been illegible and the registration could not be processed. Please note that in store registrations can take up to four (4) to six (6) weeks to process. If you would like to receive RA notifications immediately, please sign up for ‘The Hook Up’ online at www.RAsushi.com today.

4) I’m having a hard time viewing and/or printing my certificate. What can I do?
This occurs based on the settings for your email account. Make sure the following email address is listed in your contacts: TheHookUp@RAsushi-news.com. You can also try viewing the email in your browser by clicking “View Online” in the top right corner.
If you are still having trouble, please contact your email provider for further assistance.

5) I lost my certificate. Can I get another one?
RA will re-issue certificates during the month of your birthday and half birthday. Please send an email to customerservice@RAsushi.com to request a resend.

6) I just registered for “The Hook Up” on-line and my birthday/half birthday is this month. How soon can I get my certificate?
Certificates for new registrants will be emailed within approximately ten business days of registering. Please make sure to add TheHookUp@RAsushi-news.com to your contact list so your certificate will be delivered to you.

7) Is there any way to get a certificate emailed to me sooner?
Our certificates are issued via an automated computer system and cannot be sent out individually based on a guest’s preferences.

8) If I registered in the restaurant, how long will it take before I get any emails?
Registrations submitted at one of our RA Sushi restaurants take approximately four (4) weeks to (6) weeks to process. If you would like to begin receiving information sooner, please sign up on our website at: www.RAsushi.com

9) Do I need to bring the entire certificate to the restaurant?
Yes. Please bring the printed certificate along with valid photo identification with proof of date of birth (e.g., driver’s license) to any participating RA Sushi location. RA Sushi must be able to verify your name, complete date of birth (MM/DD/YYYY), the certificate’s expiration date and barcode must appear on certificate. If any of these is NOT provided, RA Sushi reserves the right as per the Terms and Conditions of ‘The Hook Up’ to decline the certificate and require payment in full.

10) I tried to register my child for ‘The Hook Up’ so why haven’t they received any information?
‘The Hook Up’ email program requires that members must be at least 13 years of age to participate. If you tried to register a child 12 and under, their information was not processed as it is in violation of the Terms and Conditions of ‘The Hook Up’.

11) I just updated my information with a complete date of birth. Can I get the certificate now even though my birthday/half birthday was last month?
The Hook Up program requires that members provide a complete date of birth and the RA location you most frequently visit in order to receive a certificate. Per ‘The Hook Up’ Terms and Conditions, RA does not issue certificates for birthday/half birthdays in previous months even though the information is now updated. A certificate will be emailed to you on the first day of the month of your next half birthday.

12) What if my name or date of birth is incorrectly spelled or listed? Will the restaurant accept my certificate?
You will need to email us the account information along with what needs to be corrected to customerservice@RAsushi.com and a certificate will be re-issued if there are no other errors with your account. Please note that we will make every effort to reissue a certificate within two business days.

13) Can the expiration date on my certificate be extended?
Unfortunately, RA Sushi does not offer extensions or reissues after the certificate is expired.

14) We only have one shared email address. Why can’t you register two people on the account?
This is a violation of ‘The Hook Up’ email program’s Terms and Conditions which require a unique email address for each member. This information is clearly listed on both the registration form and on our website.

15) How can I receive my certificate if we only have one email account?
You must open a new email account. These are free and available to anyone through a variety of services. Once you have a unique email address, re-register at www.RAsushi.com.

16) If I forget to print off my certificate, can I just show the certificate to the server on my cell phone?
No. The Terms and Conditions of the program require that you present a printed copy of the certificate along with a photo ID in order to receive your offer.

17) I need help with my certificate for my dinner reservation tonight/this weekend. Can you help?
Please send an email to customerservice@RAsushi.com. We will make every effort to respond within two business days, but may require additional time to resolve depending on the issue. We review requests Monday through Friday between 9:30am and 5:30pm Eastern Standard Time. We will do our best to assist you as quickly as we can. Please keep in mind certificates may be redeemed Monday – Thursday ONLY, and may not be redeemed on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

18) Can I use my certificate in addition to existing RA Sushi offers?
No. This offer cannot be combined with any other offer, promotion or discounted pricing including (but not limited to) Happy Hour.

19) How many certificates can be used at one table?
Per the disclaimer listed on the certificate, “Offer cannot be combined with any other offer, discount coupon or promotion. Limit one certificate per person, per party. Certificate valid for onetime use only. Void where prohibited.”

20) Can I use my certificate on takeout?
The birthday and half birthday certificate is valid for dine-in only and must be presented to the wait staff prior to ordering.

What does RA mean?

The word RA does not have a specific meaning. Rather, it is a sound in the Japanese language. It is easy to pronounce and remember and builds on the sushi concept with a sound similar to the word “raw.”

Do you take reservations?

Yes, you can book your table on our website or through OpenTable.

Do you serve other types of food besides sushi?

Of course. Even here at RA we believe there’s more to life than sushi. We are very proud of our wide variety of Shareables, hibachi entrées, noodle and teriyaki dishes, soups, salads and other Japanese delights. Hungry? Check out our menu.

Can I place a take out order from the Happy Hour Menu?

Happy Hour pricing is only available if you dine in and is not available on take out orders. But really, Happy Hour is a lot happier in the RA. So stay and have fun!

Do you have any private rooms at any of you locations?

RA Times Square has a private room. Please contact the manager to accommodate your group.

How do I purchase gift cards?

It’s super easy to give the gift of great food. Gift cards can be purchased at any of our restaurants or online right here.

Who handles your media buys?

The RA Marketing Department handles all media buys. Please send media kits/advertising information to advertising@RAsushi.com.

I have a charity event coming up and am looking for a gift certificate for a raffle and/or silent auction. Where can I submit my charity event info?

RA is a big supporter of charitable organizations and we are always happy to consider donation requests. Please fill out your donation request here.

Unfortunately, at this time RA Sushi does not franchise.

Why do I need to give RA Sushi my full name?

RA Sushi restaurants require the full first and last name as they appear on a valid ID to verify your identity when presenting your certificate. Even if you go by a nickname, the name on your Hook Up® account needs to match your ID to redeem your certificate. RA Sushi reserves the right to decline the certificate if this information is not accurate.

I accidentally used my friend/family member’s email when registering. Can you switch our account information for us?

Unfortunately, we cannot switch profile information between guests, as it does cause confusion. Per our Terms and Conditions, we do ask that each member register with their own personal email address. You may sign up again with your own personal email address.

I recently legally changed my name and have updated identification. Can I update my name on my account?

Yes, please send us the life event that led to your name change (marriage, divorce, etc.) and our Guest Services team will update your account.

I accidentally unsubscribed. How do I get re-registered?

If you’d like to re-register using a previously registered email address, please contact our Guest Services team by emailing thehookup@rasushi.com so we can assist. If you’d like to register with a new email address, please click here.

Why do I need to give you my full date of birth? I’m worried about identify theft.

RA Sushi respects the privacy of our members and does not knowingly share your birthday with anyone, except when required by law. The complete date of birth is required to not only ensure that the legal age requirement for participation is met, but also to verify your identity in our restaurant when redeeming your certificate.

I keep getting an error message about “invalid name”. What’s happening?

We do not accept names with a single letter or first initial. The system will not accept periods, spaces or dashes in a name. Please remove these and re-enter your name. If you’re still having trouble, please email Guest Services at thehookup@rasushi.com

I’m trying to register my whole family on one email address. Why won’t it let me?

Per our Terms and Conditions, there is only one member of The Hook Up® permitted per email address. Every member will need to register with a unique email address.

When I try to register, it says that I’m already signed up, but I’m not getting RA Sushi emails. What do I do?

Please send an email to our Guest Services team at thehookup@rasushi.com so we can look into your account for you. Please add info@email.rasushi.com to your contact list.

I just signed up for The Hook Up and my birthday/half birthday is this month. When do I get my certificate?

Your RA Sushi birthday/half birthday certificate will be emailed to you within two business days — please make sure the bar code is visible prior to printing the certificate. Please add info@email.rasushi.com to your contact list.

I always get your emails but I never get my RA Sushi birthday certificate. What’s going on?

Please send our Guest Services team an email at thehookup@rasushi.com so we can look into your account for you. Please add info@email.rasushi.com to your contact list.

I lost my RA Sushi birthday certificate. Can I get another one?

We will re-issue RA Sushi birthday certificates during the month of your birthday and half birthday and only prior to your certificate’s expiration date. Please send an email to thehookup@rasushi.com to request a re-send. We recommend adding info@email.rasushi.com to your safe sender list to prevent our emails from going to your spam folder.

My friend/family member does not have access to their email address. Can you send their certificate to me instead?

Unfortunately, to qualify for a birthday certificate, per our Terms and Conditions, each guest must be actively registered with The Hook Up with their own personal email address that they can access so that they can receive our communication throughout the year.

Can I share my email address with a friend/family member?

Per our Terms and Conditions, there is a limit of one guest per email address. The sharing of email accounts is not permitted.

I haven’t received my birthday/half birthday certificate. Should I re-register?

If you find that you haven’t received your birthday certificate by the time your birthday/half birthday occurs and you’ve checked your spam, junk and promotions folders to confirm your certificate hasn’t been filtered to another folder, please reach out to our Guest Services team by emailing thehookup@rasushi.com for assistance as opposed to re-registering.

Can I just show the certificate to my server on my smart phone when I get to the restaurant?

No. Per the Terms and Conditions of the program which you agreed to upon registration, your birthday certificate MUST be printed and presented to your server to redeem.

If my name or date of birth is wrong, will the restaurant accept my certificate?

No. The information on your birthday certificate must match your valid ID. RA Sushi reserves the right to decline the certificate per the Terms and Conditions of the program.

Do I need to make a reservation to use my certificate?

While it is not required, we do RECOMMEND that you make a reservation. Based on business levels, we may not be able to accommodate walk-ins and will not extend the expiration date on your certificate. Please visit our locations page,

Is there a minimum amount you need to spend to redeem your birthday/half birthday certificate?

No, there is no minimum spend to redeem your birthday/half birthday certificate. The maximum value of your birthday/half birthday certificate is $20. If you spend less than $20, there will be no reimbursement given. If you spend more than $20, you will be responsible to pay the amount in excess of $20. Your certificate cannot be used toward alcoholic beverages, tax or tip. Please check our Terms and Conditions for more details.

Can I redeem my birthday certificate for dine-in, takeout or delivery orders?

Certificates can only be redeemed for in-restaurant dining. It excludes take-out and delivery orders.

Is my RA Sushi birthday/half birthday certificate valid at all locations or only specific locations?

Your birthday certificate can be redeemed at any participating RA Sushi restaurant that offers dine in service.

Are there any blackout dates?

Yes. Certificates cannot be used on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Eve or Valentine’s Day.

I just registered with The Hook Up, but I haven’t received my welcome certificate. What should I do?

Please be sure to check your spam or promotions folder in your email. If you still encounter issues, please send an email to thehookup@rasushi.com for assistance.

How long does it take for you to receive your welcome certificate once you register?

You should receive your welcome certificate within 24 hours after you register with The Hook Up. Please be sure to check your spam and promotions folder in your email and add info@email.rasushi.com to your contact list.

I just registered with The Hook Up but it’s not my birthday month. Am I still eligible for a welcome certificate?

Yes, every new registrant to The Hook Up is eligible for a $10 welcome certificate. Certificates are for dine-in only and cannot towards the purchase of alcohol. Certificates are only valid Monday – Thursday.

I can’t access my welcome certificate. What should I do?

$10 Welcome certificates are only issued to new registrants of The Hook Up and are valid for 29 days from the date you signed up. You may have exceeded your redemption period or may not have successfully registered with The Hook Up. Please contact our Guest Services team for assistance by emailing thehookup@rasushi.com.

Is there a time limit to redeem my $10 welcome certificate?

You have 29 days from the day that your certificate is issued to redeem.

Can I use my $10 Welcome certificate and $20 birthday certificate during the same visit?

Your welcome certificate cannot be combined with any other discounts, offers or promotions.

Are there any restrictions on the menu items I can order with my $10 welcome certificate?

Your certificate can be applied to any menu item except for promotional menu items, alcoholic beverages, take out or delivery orders. Certificates cannot be used on the following holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Eve and Valentines Day.

Can I transfer my $10 Welcome Certificate to someone else?

No. The welcome certificate is intended for the recipient and registered user of The Hook Up only.

I don’t have a printer. What should I do?

You will need to print your RA Sushi birthday certificate to redeem your discount per the Terms and Conditions of the program.

I’m having trouble viewing/printing my certificate. What should I do?

This typically occurs based on the settings for your email account. Make sure the following email address is listed in your contacts: info@email.rasushi.com.
You can also try viewing your email and RA Sushi birthday certificate in your browser by clicking “View in Browser” in the top right corner of your email. If you’re still having trouble, you will need to contact your email provider.

I’ve been emailing Guest Services but I don’t get a response. What’s going on?

We will make every effort to respond within two business days.

I just want to talk to someone. Is there a number to reach you?

The Hook Up® is an online marketing program and we can ONLY assist you via email. Please send a message to our Guest Services team at thehookup@rasushi.com. We will make every effort to respond within two business days but may require additional time to resolve depending on the issue. Can I redeem my RA Sushi birthday certificate at Benihana?

No, RA Sushi certificates cannot be honored at Benihana locations.

Why am I getting Benihana emails?

Benihana is an iconic teppanyaki restaurant and is the sister brand to RA Sushi. Visit Benihana.com to learn more and find a location.

Can I redeem my Benihana certificate at RA Sushi?

No. Benihana certificates cannot be honored at RA Sushi locations.

Why am I getting a VIP certificate?

You have been identified as one of our most loyal guests by visiting RA Sushi multiple times per year and/or your annual spend at our restaurants. Because of this, we are rewarding you with a Most Valuable Guest VIP Certificate. Terms and Conditions apply.

What is a Most Valuable Guest or MVG?

A Most Valuable Guest (MVG) is a guest determined and identified by RA Sushi. RA Sushi reserves the right to revoke this designation at any time, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

How can I become a Most Valuable Guest?

Most Valuable Guest is a designation determined and identified by RA Sushi. We encourage you to continue to visit your favorite RA Sushi location. We thank you for your patronage.

Can I reach out to Guest Services to make a reservation?

Unfortunately, our Guest Services team doesn’t handle reservation requests. Please visit our website, https://rasushi.com/reservations to make a reservation online. For larger parties, please reach out to the restaurant directly.

I registered for The Hook Up after my birthday/half birthday occurred. Am I still eligible to receive a birthday/half birthday certificate?

Please reach out to our Guest Services team by emailing thehookup@rasushi.com to determine eligibility.

If my birthday certificate expires on a weekend day, or a day when the restaurant is closed, can I redeem my certificate on another day?

We allow each guest 29 days to redeem your birthday/half birthday certificate. If your certificate expires on a day when it’s not redeemable, please make arrangements to dine with us before that date.

How old do you have to be to join The Hook Up?

You must be at least 13 years of age to participate in The Hook Up.

I just joined The Hook Up and I received a $10 Welcome certificate along with my $20 birthday certificate. Can I redeem both in the same transaction?

There is a limit of one certificate per person.

Can I use my certificate at other restaurant brands?

Certificate can only be redeemed at RA Sushi. Not applicable for use at any other restaurant brands.
